The new Land Rover Defender is a better car than the old Defender, but NOT a better Defender. This Bowler with projectname ‘CSP 575’ most certainly is.
Bowler Motors, part of Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations and builder of great Land Rover inspired rally-raid cars, has unveiled sketches of project CSP 575. The new Bowler is developed for off- and onroad use, will seat four people, is powered by JLR’s 575 bhp supercharged V8 and will cost 200.000 GBP before tax.

Its bespoke chassis is made of steel and the bodywork uses aluminium Land Rover Defender 110 parts. Even the door mirrors are of 1983 Land Rover origin. Jokes about leaky doorseals in the comments below.

Unlike most Bowler products, the CSP 575 is designed as a road car with serious offroad abilities. While a rally inspired car for the road with four race seats might sound uncomfortable, its long suspension travel will absorb Chelsea curbs and the Bowler even has air conditioning for further creature comforts. At this moment it is unknown if a towbar will be an option.

Want one as much as we do? More details will be revealed in 2021. The Land Rover Defender inspired Bowler CSP 575 will be a limited edition, available in the UK, parts of Europe and some overseas markets.
