Tooley Mobile Electrical Power Welding and Workshop Facilities

Most owners of classic Land-Rovers carry a nicely filled toolbox in the car, which can come in handy in the unfortunate circumstance your car breaks down. From the 1960’s to the 1980’s, Tooley of Earl Shilton converted complete Land-Rover Series and 110 cars into mobile toolboxes: ‘Take your workshop to the breakdown’ – some Land-Rovers by Tooley could even weld there own chassis or bulkhead! Tooley Electro Mechanical Co Ltd has been out of business for thirty years now, but thankfully we still have the images. These scans are from a 1970’s sales brochure for power equipment. The long wheel base Land Rover on the cover however is an early Series 2a, distinguishable by its deeper sills and dashboard.
